It's not coincidence that we had one of our finest football era in Spain (if not the finest), when the best managers and players were all based in Spain. But today, just look at the Starting 11s of the 2 biggest Spanish clubs. Year Madrid still has a few things going for them, but what they currently have is still a watered-down team in companion to a couple of years ago. Just to emphasize, a mere look at the English League tells you everything. They have the best players and the best managers and yet all that money.
We always seem to always only talk about how money brings in the best players, but they also bring in the best managers. 90% of the best managers in the world right now recently coached an English team. That tells you everything.
